Senior Fund Accountant, Wilmington, DE

Our Client is a prominent Wealth Manager and RIA with offices throughout the U.S. The firm provides a full range of corporate trustee and executor services that allow their clients the ability to establish trusts with Delaware situs, as well as Investment Management and Wealth Advisory services. The firm’s clients include high net worth individuals, families, institutions, trusts and foundations, they oversee over 18B in AUM.

The Senior Fund Accountant role is an excellent opportunity to join a well established and growing investment firm. We’re looking for a sharp candidate with Private Equity and Fund of Fund experience to join this fast-paced team environment that offers excellent benefits and long-term growth. This person will be highly visible within the office, as well as with the New York Office, and specifically the CFO.

Senior Fund Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Review of monthly valuations for internal fund of funds.
  • Compilation of valuation materials (e.g. capital statements, trade confirmations, broker statements, pricing data, dividend detail, etc.) monthly for internal fund of funds.
  • Calculate daily Net Asset Values for funds accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Research and resolve cash and security reconciliations.
  • Complete bank reconciliation forms to identify differences.
  • Review of monthly pricing of private equity vehicles.
  • Reviewing cash management for private equity vehicles, including allocating and tracking capital calls, returns of capital, and distributions.
  • Communicate with outside investment groups, banks, brokers, funds, and fund administrators to request information, handle discrepancies, and ensure that all relevant data they are expected to provide is received, is accurate, and is free of error
  • Write reports periodically to management on Fund activities and other related issues.
  • Responsible for allocating various expenses and reviewing accruals for internal fund of funds and company accounts.
  • Partner with the internal Operations team and the outside fund administrator to ensure that all transactions for internal fund of funds are recorded properly into accounting and reporting systems.
  • Review of financial statements for internal fund of funds.
  • Assist independent audit team and provide them with all necessary data and information they require, answer questions they have, and assist in the review of the completed audited financial statements.
  •  Partner with the fund administrator compile tax estimates and federal K-1’s for the firm’s investments.
  • Facilitate generation of K-1’s for internal fund of funds.
  • Assist in researching the proper tax and GAAP treatment of new investments for internal fund of funds.

 

Senior Fund Accountant Requirements:

  • BS degree with emphasis in accounting or finance.
  • 2-3 yrs. Fund accounting experience preferred.
  • Private Equity experience and Fund Accounting experience required.
  • General knowledge of investment instruments and GAAP treatment of such securities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
