Senior Corporate Finance Consultant, Job Description:

The Senior Corporate Finance Advisor will provide corporate finance and M&A advisory service to clients and prospects with businesses. These are privately held or listed on the NYSE or NASDAQ. Clients include multi-generational family businesses, as well as entrepreneurial ventures and operate in all the major business sectors. This position will work from the New York office and work with regional colleagues to provide advisory services to clients throughout the US.

 

Senior Corporate Finance Consultant, Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze opportunities and advise clients and prospects on strategic initiatives. This includes mergers, acquisitions and buyouts, as well as partial liquidity events involving minority capital partners and divestitures. Additionally, advise on the expansion of clients’ market share through tactical acquisitions that add new products or expand the geographic reach of their businesses.
  • Conduct detailed annual business reviews of the firm’s major operating companies held in trust. Analyze the competitive trends in the industry, the performance of comparable companies and the financial terms of relevant acquisitions. Travel to these offices on a regular basis for updates with the senior management teams to visit the facilities.
  • Provide strategic advisory support in valuing, structuring and negotiating ownership stakes in other private family companies.
  • Partner with Family Offices to expand their investment strategy and assist in tailoring their investment mission.
  • Assist Clients in negotiating and structuring ownership stakes in other privately held companies.
  • Partner with clients and prospects to develop an understanding of their strategic and financial objectives. Consult and Advise them on alternative solutions, strategize and execute transactions to achieve their objectives.
  • Occasionally advise on the selection of an investment bank to provide financial advisory services if asked. Negotiate the engagement of the investment bank and oversee their execution of the transaction.
  • Continually evaluate and critique business strategies to ensure that the products and services are competitive, the market position of the company is secure and the succession planning to achieve long-term growth for the beneficiaries.

 

Senior Corporate Finance Advisor, Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and MBA or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 10 years professional experience in investment banking, commercial banking or private equity required.
  • Equity Research, Corporate Advisory or M&A experience would be very helpful.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, previous experience working with business owners and CEOs.
  • Broad industry experience analyzing, structuring and executing strategic advisory assignments and finance transactions.
  • Solid experience performing due diligence on public and private companies, including competitive research, business trends, and leading meeting with management.
  • Recent experience valuating businesses, acquisition analysis and discounted cash flow analysis/sum of parts etc.
  • Experience developing client relationships and executing transactions with deal teams of bankers, lawyers and accountants.
  • Experience and knowledge within Financial Modeling.
