SBA – Loan Officer/Business Development- Honolulu, Hi.

Our client, a prominent and growing Bank is looking to hire a SBA – Loan Officer / Business Development in Honolulu, Hi.

The successful SBA – Loan Officer / Business Development will have these general responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage client relationships with a particular emphasis on clients using the SBA 7(a) loan product.
  • Generate SBA loans, deposits and fee income for the Bank through prospecting, outside calling, networking and referrals.
  • Develop and implement marketing activities and initiatives within the budget.
  • Evaluate business and personal financial statements and cash flow to determine whether to pursue loan opportunities.
  • Prepare portfolio for loan examinations and audits.
  • Present loan recommendations to Bank’s Chief Credit Officer and loan committees as appropriate.
  • Represent the Bank at community, networking and trade association functions.
  • Ensure SBA loan packages are processed in accordance with regulations and program requirements.
  • Discuss prospects/referrals and formulate sales strategies with Bank colleagues.
  • Generate loans that maintain an acceptable level of performance.


Requirements for SBA – Loan Officer / Business Development:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of SBA 7(a) lending and marketing experience.
  • Must have working knowledge of compliance and regulatory issues related to SBA 7(a) and 504 loans.
  • Excellent knowledge of SBA SOPs, program eligibility, credit criteria and loan structure requirements.
  • Proven track record of generating at least $6M in SBA loans.
  • Excellent analytical and financial analysis skills.
  • Ability to understand credit risk and able to properly evaluate and disclose risk in a relationship.
  • Advanced credit analysis skills and knowledge of credit analysis tools. Attention to detail is critical.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to priorities and manage deals with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information and materials.
  • Highly proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
